SO, I AM NOT ALONE

SO, I AM NOT ALONE
The world started to turn bad, really bad, with 9/11.  But why?  It’s good to know that when one comes to rather incredulous conclusions about such world shaking events as 9/11 that there are others out there, somewhere, who are coming to the same conclusions. This is a comfort, as it keeps one from doubting one’s credentials, at least as an observer.  And I fancy that I am a rather keen observer of humans on the political stage (a conceit I obviously share with many others).
I have recently posted two articles explaining why I think Edward Snowden, the whistle blower, may indeed have the “Crown Jewels” of information the US insists he didn’t gain access to. What kind of information would the US consider “Crown Jewels”?  Perhaps incriminating information on 9/11?  Incriminating for the US government?  If true, this might explain the absolutely nutty things the US is resorting to, like pretending the NSA info sweeps prevented massive Al-Qaida attacks last week end, etc.
Finian Cunningham is a recognized expert in international affairs, a prominent journalist, and scientist (a former scientific editor for the Royal Society of Chemistry , Cambridge, England).  In a recent article (8/10/2013) reprinted in  Information Clearing House, Mr. Cunningham writes concerning what further information Snowden may have given over to others to be released:

“There is also the very real prospect that Snowden’s files may reveal explosive secrets going back to the 9/11 alleged terror attacks on New York and Washington in 2001. It has long been suspected by many analysts and experts that the official narrative on those purported attacks is a cover-up for something much more sinister, such as US government for secret strategic interests.”

Russia demanded that Snowden promise not to reveal any more information that might “harm” the US in order to be given asylum in Russia.   Snowden has evidentially complied.  However, it has been reported that Snowden gave over the rest of the files he had to other parties before he was given asylum by Russia.  So the files are still there but in other’s hands.  Certainly I would think that Julian Assange knows where the rest of Snowden’s files are, as well as Glenn Greenwald, the reporter for the Guardian who first released Snowden’s files.
I believe that the remaining information in Snowden’s files may be so explosive that the US could become a global outcast (except for Israel of course, and Saudi Arabia)  if that information was actually revealed.  Even the European countries that have reacted so cravenly before US demands might be revolted.  Under the Harper government Canada has become almost a colony of the US. This means that whatever Snowden has given over to others that would “harm” the US if revealed will most certainly harm Canadians as well.
Still, I urge Julian Assange and Glenn Greenwald to release all of the tapes, especially those concerning  9/11.  We need to know exactly what 9/11 was about. We are grown-ups.  We can stand the truth.  All civilization seems at a stale mate, we can’t get on, can’t regroup, unless we know the truth.  All the horrific killing in US invaded countries can be contributed to 9/11, the demonic twisted meddling in other countries, all the massive destruction of democratic values at home and abroad, the decline of world economies due to military expansions, the retreat of democracy and rights of humans and the environment, all the way to the ever mounting suicides of US service men and women and the spread of drugs, both legal and illegal.  My God, let’s get on with it. Release the tapes. Please, you men who have them. Release the tapes.

ICE WILL SUFFICE

ICE WILL SUFFICE
“Some say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice…”thus begins what is probably Robert Frost’s most memorable poem entitled Fire and Ice.  What makes a poem memorable?  When it speaks a truth.  The poem continues…
“From what I’ve tasted of desire, I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice is also great
And would suffice”.
This may seem an odd way to start an article about the plunging of human sperm count, but I see Robert Frost’s poem as extremely apropos.  Fire?  Desire?  The greedy, desirous people of the 1% are plunging all of us and the world into a fire pit.  I see Frost’s poem as both allegorical and literal.  In truth, we seem to be descending into a fire pit of global warming that includes increased potable water shortages along with carbon and methane gas emissions.  Deforestation, desertification in some parts of the world, increased flooding in others as the oceans rise and round out the picture.  But ice?
What is Robert Frost talking about when he says that ice would suffice?  After all, our problem is melting ice caps.  Not enough ice.  But again, Robert Frost’s poem is allegorical. I think he is talking about the icy indifference on the part of governments and institutions of the 1% in how they consider the lives of ordinary humans, then and now.  Now is worse.  So many industrial and chemical poisons have been spewed into the world in order to allow a few humans to wallow in wealth that the many are in the process of losing everything, including the ability to reproduce.
Don’t get me wrong.  I am a feminist and pro-choice.  I am also the mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother of males. And I worry about the falling sperm count.  Why, you may ask?  The world is over populated as it is.  However, it has been almost twenty years since a Danish scientist named Niels Skakkeback (U. of Copenhagen) at a WHO conference announced to the world that human sperm counts had fallen by half over the span of fifty years.  Other scientists found the same sperm decline for the last fifty years.  On top of these statistics, a recent French study has found there has been “a significant and continuous 32.2 per cent decrease in sperm concentration over 17 years” (telegraph.co.uk 7/31/2013).  Are the results of this study of the last 17 years added to the 50 per cent drop they must have started with?  Which would represent a 32.2 per cent drop added to the 50 per cent which would result in 82.2 per cent drop in sperm count altogether?  They don’t say.  But this seems too enormous of a drop to be true.  But maybe not.
In the book Our Stolen Future (Colborn, Dumanoski, Myers, 1996) the authors tell us that there are many endocrine-disrupting chemicals in public use that could also affect sperm count.  On page 120-121 we learn that “Humans, by comparison (to other animals) are inefficient breeders, who tend to produce barely the number of sperm required for successful fertilization.  Moore (Robert Moore,  toxicologist, US Environmental Toxicology Center) describes the human male sperm count as “borderline pathological” for many individuals even without the assault of endocrine-disrupting chemicals. If Moore is correct and if long term decline in human sperm count continues, our species faces a troubling prospect.  Such a drop could have a devastating impact on human fertility”.
This is already happening.  Decreases in many western countries’ populations are beginning to worry their heads of state.  It is the duty of capitalist governments to see that corporations continue to grow fat on low wage workers; that there are enough tax payers to keep things going without unduly bothering the 1% for anything like tax money on their investments, or clean up money if their investments leak or explode, and who understand they will always be given the helping hand of their fawning governments. And, of course, heads of state have to keep enough soldiers to be sent to countries to face the fire of people who hate them before they even get there, and the ice of federal indifference if they return.  Still, most industrial nations are getting at least somewhat worried about population decline.
The US, Canada, Japan, and most of Europe are showing population declines.  According to those who know, or think they know , or are supposed to know, this decline can be attributed to many things such as the recession that worries young people and causes them to postpone marriage and/or starting a family.  Some countries in population decline are discussing giving bonuses of sorts, or premiums for child care and the like, in an effort to assist women in making the decision to have more babies.
Other countries, like the US, are taking the old road traveled; simply restrict abortion and even birth control and force women to have more babies.  Several US states have already made it practically impossible for women to have abortions while Viagra, but not birth control for women, are included in many health plans. This will insure that women are urged (or forced) to have sex more frequently, with fewer protections or resources. But forcing or inducing women to have more babies  may be much more difficult than even Nazi type heads of state imagine if the drop in population is caused by, or even affected by, a corresponding  drop in sperm count, regardless of the cause of the drop.
I think the decline in teen age pregnancies is the flag signaling that the decline in population in general is being driven, at least in part, by environmental poisoning.  What the sperm count studies have shown is that a young man today has a much lower sperm count than his grandfather had.  It is the young men of the industrial world that have lost much of their sperm count and sperm volume.  The rate by which sperm count is dropping is 2% a year; in Europe it is estimated to be 3%.
I find it telling that the teen age pregnancy rate in the US has dropped 25% between 2007 and 2011.  Most of the credit for this has been claimed by operators of programs specifically designed for teen agers to lower the rates of teen pregnancies.  But I wonder.  Valuable as these programs may be, I suspect that young men’s lower sperm counts may have more to do with this dramatic drop in teen pregnancies than a sudden change of sexual behavior on the part of US teens.  Time will tell.  In the meantime it seems we are having both the fire and ice that Frost spoke of…environmental fire and icy government indifference to it all.
However, there is this possible upside that others speak of…with many fewer babies being born in the future maybe all babies will be cherished and protected, not just the babies of parasitical monarchies and narcissistic celebrities.  With fewer soldiers to fight wars there may be fewer wars.  With fewer thieves, less thievery.  Fewer politicians, priests, police, pimps, porn and prostitution.  Fewer guns for fewer people.  Less drugs, less gangs.  Less depressions.  Less recessions. Dancing in the streets?  Maybe.

 THE OTHER “CROWN JEWELS”
The crown jewels that interest me are not the ones in England.  The crown jewels that interest me are the ones  that United States intelligence sources say they now believe that whistle-blower Edward Snowden was unable to access (Business Standard 7/23/13).
The Business Standard reported (July 22, 2013)“As the Obama administration is analyzing what all classified data Snowden laid his hands on and what damage he may have caused, the damage assessment reveals that he did not gain access to the ‘extremely compartmentalized information’ (ECI), CNN reports”. And from the same article : “United States intelligence sources now believe that whistle-blower Edward Snowden was unable to access the ‘crown jewels’ NSA programs that secretly monitor telephone and on line conversations worldwide.”
I don’t believe it. I believe that Snowden did get into the crown jewels or else why would there even be talk of the existence of such a thing?  Edward Snowden has proven to be a very careful man and I think Snowden did find the “crown jewels”.  And he has not released them.  But Snowden has made known that the information he still holds that hasn’t been released so far, has been encrypted.  Furthermore, in the event that he should be murdered, Snowden has also made known that he has put copies of this unreleased material into the hands of others with the instructions to be released in the event that he is murdered.
I believe Edward Snowden is a true patriot.  I believe him to be of the same nature as many other great Americans who have tried to steer the US away from the grip of total control by the US military, banks, and corporations and put their lives at risk in so doing.   I would place Edward Snowden in the same category as Abraham Lincoln, John Kennedy, Robert Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King in a heartbeat.   I think Snowden loves his country and does not want to destroy the US, that he still believes in the values of democracy, the equality of opportunity, the creativity and love of place that America used to be.  I know that place of which Snowden speaks.   I used to dwell there, in that longing to believe that what one was taught as a child could still be true.  But it isn’t.  I think Snowden came to this reality in front of his work computer gazing at the screen at the monster the US has become.
The reluctance to “harm the US” seems to be the main message coming from Snowden and from Vladimir Putin.  Putin along with Snowden’s lawyer both hem and haw about asylum for Assange on the grounds that he would have to stop releasing material that would “harm the US” should he be granted asylum.  Interesting. In other words, he would have to refrain from releasing any of the “Crown Jewels” he may have.
As Snowden has already released a gigantic cluster bomb upon the world with the NSA global spying revelations, what other information could be in his possession that would “harm the US”?   It wouldn’t be the usual spying stuff on corporations or military fields.  China is also very good at information gathering of that sort. It has to be something more than what most countries already have.
And as I understand it, as long as Assange doesn’t formally apply for permanent asylum in Russia the restrictions that he not release anything to harm the US do not apply.  Putin has indicated to the media that he finds Snowden troublesome for Russia. But  I believe that far from Russia wanting to be rid of Edward Snowden as the western press asserts, I think that Putin (as well as China) has some idea what these “crown jewels” of information consist of and consider this material, whatever it is,  to be of the utmost importance and interest to the world.
Julian Assange seems to believe that as long as Snowden remains in Russia he will be safe.  I would definitely fear for Snowden’s life if he left Russia because  I think the American MNNJBCCC’s (My own acronym)  meaning a grab bag of American military, NSA, neo-cons, Jewish lobby, banks, corrupt politicians, Christian fundamentalists and CEO’s of corporations would tear him apart with their teeth if they could get their hands on him.
I think this bunch (MNNJBCCCs) fear what Edward Snowden may be holding as if it were death itself.  It would certainly be the death of their dreams of a rapid ascent to the absolute throne of world power.  If Snowden has information that links some of the people in the MNNJBCCC groups to beforehand knowledge of 9/11 he could ever so gently advise them to behave differently or else.  Wouldn’t that be the mother of all developments? Wouldn’t it just?
