NEVER MIND A WOMEN’S PARTY;
WE NEED A WOMEN’S REVOLUTION!
Yes, we need a Women’s Revolution. Because men as a group just simply aren’t paying enough attention to a gigantic biological crime affecting males; there has been a fifty per cent drop in the human male sperm count in the last fifty years and the count is still dropping. I call it a crime because it is. This is an extremely serious issue as it portends reproduction problems for the entire human race downstream.  The overwhelming scientific opinion seems to be that the human sperm count drop is caused by chemical pollution. Why aren’t our men out screaming in the streets?

But the most staggering issue to me at the moment is the way governments are working with universities and corporations to patent the very building blocks of life itself.  Living genes of plants and animals, including those of human genes, have been and are in the process of being patented by private companies. The initial research is almost always done in universities and largely paid for by taxpayers.   This means that huge sections of the circle of life are being co opted and privatized through the work of public institutions that the public pays to bring life and health to the general population.
One immediate concern is that of genetically modified salmon.  It won’t be long now according to some reports (Ktuu. com 6/2/2012) before GMO salmon will be given a pass by the US for human consumption. And our Canadian government is gearing up to take full advantage of this future lucrative market for  genetically modified salmon (Frankenfish) for private industry as soon as the US gets the green light.  And of course Harper’s government will have no plans to inform the public about which salmon in our grocery stores are actually the Frankenfish. Just as they refuse to tell us which corn and grains and oils presently on the market are genetically modified.

The Harper government also denies it has anything in mind but the good welfare of the Canadian people when we inquired of their intentions with the GMO Salmon currently being cared for in West Vancouver.  Mr. Keith Ashfield (DFO) also denies in a letter (April 27, 2012) that any of the fish in BC, either in pens or open waters, have been sex changed.  However, we are advised differently by the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC. On their website they tell us exactly how they achieve all female populations of fish (sex changed triploid fish) and stock these populations which include rainbow trout, eastern brook trout, kokanee, and cutthroat, in 50 % of the lakes in BC.  We are also advised on this same site how some of the fish get sex changed.

With hormones.  They use testosterone to change some female fish into males while in the fry stage.  However, when they mature the sex changed females act as males and fertilize the eggs of regular females. But they are still genetically females.  So, because their parents were both genetically females, when these eggs hatch and grow to maturity they are all females.  And because they are also sterile it means these unnatural fish don’t use energy going through sexual maturity and grow abnormally big and fat, some to monstrous sizes.  What a bloody awful thing to do to the natural world!

But our fate as unnatural humans (unless we revolt) corresponds with the fate of our unnatural fish. Just as there is no government outcry over the rapid, abnormal drop in human male sperm count, there will be no governmental expressed worry about the human breast cancer gene has that has recently been patented and privatized. Fancy that. A human gene that used to belong to its human owner has recently been patented and now belongs to a company in Utah (Myrad Genetics).  Well, their reasoning seems to go, if fish genes can be patented and privatized, why not those of humans?  More on this next time. betty.krawczyk@gmail.com

Chemtrails and LRAD

Saturday morning, from my back porch in Comox Valley, I think perhaps I caught a glimpse of the future. And it was in the sky.  High enough that I couldn’t even see the airplane emitting the plume of vapor left behind that was spreading across the bright sun lit sky to the east.

I’ve rather dismissed the emails I get from people who seem paranoid about chemtrails (the plume of white vapor left behind some airplane flights that seem unusual for whatever reason.)  But when people’s actions seem peculiar or disturbing to me I always look for motives behind the actions. Sometimes there aren’t any.  At least nothing discernible.  But while I didn’t completely dismiss the email warnings I had received in the past about the odd, vaguely menacing plumes of white vapor that airplanes seem to be emitting more frequently, I just hadn’t been able to establish a motive.  Why would the Canadian government be trying to poison us, as some of the emails claim, or mess with our brains?  What would be the purpose of this?  And yet, while looking at this extremely large chemtrail yesterday morning I was struck by its bold, beautiful and unusual pattering.

It was by far the most striking and detailed chemtrail I had seen to date.  I stood mesmerized as I watched the long, broad band of white lace sprawl across the sky, the lacy vapor band so clearly defined that I could distinctly make out the repeated swirls and circles within the band’s borders. And equally striking were the vapor tassels hanging in patterned intervals along the left side of the lacy band.  It was an incredible show.  And I was without a camera.  My camera was in Vancouver with my grandson.

But as I stared at the chemtrail it struck me how familiar the pattern was; it seemed a stunning, eerie portrayal of a section of my grandmother’s handmade white lace tablecloth being writ large across the sky.  And this was no vapor trail because it wasn’t vaporizing.  It just hung there.  When I had to leave the porch twenty minutes later the band of sky lace was in the act of decomposing but the image was still distinct. What was it that this plane was spewing out that made such an incredible design I wondered? Were these kinds of sky vapors actually composed of dangerous chemicals as some of my more paranoid (seemingly) contacts insisted?

But as one wit said of paranoia, there is no such thing.  What is described as paranoia is merely a heightened sense of awareness. Whatever, when I stepped out on my back porch Saturday and saw this eerily beautiful chemtrail it was immediately after listening to a radio report on how the authorities in London plan to use Long Range Acoustic Devices for crowd control during the Olympics.  Just in case. This is a device that brings excruciating pain to human ears, rendering the owners compliant.  And after the Olympics?  Would LRAD be used against the Occupy protesters?  Or in any protest where people gather demanding democracy and transparency of government actions?  Are we being gradually conditioned to accept any outrageious form of control under the guise of national security? And conditioned not to demand answers when the sky (our sky) becomes crisscrossed with vapors that are inexplicable to us?  And what to do about it, anyway?

I think first, we might recognize that the more paranoid people among us who see the chemtrails as ominous threats to everybody’s health and safety may very well be right.  However, the jury is out until something more definitive is brought forth but I am now ready to at least listen to these people.  To see a huge, long white vapor trail across the sky portraying the distinct pattern of my grandmother’s lace tablecloth (as I remember it) complete with tassels, and then to personally monitor this image as it hung there under the sun intact for almost twenty minutes is disconcerting to say the least. It seemed to me like some kind of an omen. That I should pay more attention to this.  Okay, Grandma. I get it.

TALIBAN, THE POPE AND STEPHEN HARPER

TALIBAN, THE POPE AND STEPHEN HARPER

What does this unlikely trinity have in common? The first glaring commonality of these three that comes to my mind is their unhealthy concentration on controlling women’s most intimate body parts. First, our Prime Minister: While Mr. Harper appears displeased with his backbencher’s determination (Stephen Woodworth) to try to open up the abortion debate in Canada, Harper is, in my opinion, the architect of the planned proposed debate. Our Prime Minister belongs to a fundamentalist, literalist, Pentecostal church whose pastor and congregation are waiting along with our Prime Minister for the “Rapture” (when Jesus Christ comes back to earth floating through the sky). Until then, for these religionists, according to the Bible, men are the head of their households and women must obey their husbands. Birth control is frowned upon and abortion made a crime by association with women’s perceived inferiority. The Catholic Church?

Well, we all know Catholic popes have forever condemned birth control and abortion even as significant numbers of their priests have endured the priesthood by buggering little boys, or sometimes, depending on their proclivity, little girls. And the Taliban? Well, their holy book says husbands can beat their wives if they disobey, all four of them if need be. So according to their religious beliefs, Harper, The Pope and the Taliban are simply being true to their faith when acting out their sexist beliefs about women. They sincerely believe that women are not equal, and will never be, in fact have been put here by their various gods to have numerous babies, preferably sons, cook and cleanup behind the males while teaching daughters their job description. The problem is, all three of these categories of patriarchal male groups wield a great deal of power over women.

Of course Mr. Harper would have been better pleased, with increased confidence in eventually imposing his religious beliefs on all the women of this nation, had the Wild Rose Party succeeded in Alberta. I believe the Wild Rose people voice the same utter contempt for women that our Prime Minister dare not say aloud. And yes, I know the wildest wild rose of the Alberta Wild Rose Party is a woman. An ignorant woman in my opinion, as Danielle Smith doesn’t recognize science, evolution, or global warming. She doesn’t like other women, either, or she wouldn’t happily consign them to the hell of unwanted pregnancies. This doesn’t even make good economic sense.

There are now more women working in Canada than men. While the religious right wing is hell bent on women not having reproductive rights, they at the same time refuse to even consider affordable day care (Harper government). Day care in BC costs the equivalent of what a woman working for minimum wage would make in an outside job in many of the operating day care facilities in BC. Only the Quebec government has the attention span, or the slightest interest in women’s lives, to subtract these two numbers and realize that women will find ways not to obey such stupid, contradictory dictums from right wing religious fanatics who are not guided even by common sense, but by a delusional Biblical Armageddon Star Wars scenario.

I agree with Robin Mathew’s article: “Psychopaths in Power: The Fight for Democracy in Canada by Robin Mathews April 22nd, 2012” . We are not being governed by simple incompetence, or fiscal conservatives’, but by actual social psychopaths.
